What is Pickleball? It's a mixture of tennis, pingpong and staying out of the kitchen. This game has caught the spirit of many including Roger Huppe, Ben Harris, Dick L'Heureux and Ernie Cote who have dedicated much time and effort to seeing this sport grow in Sanford/Springvale. It is played weekly throughout the winter and summer months. WE WILL TEACH YOU HOW TO PLAY - WE HAVE EQUIPMENT FOR PUBLIC USE (please don't come if you are feeling sick)
New Players: we require new players to the game to receive one hour of instruction before playing with the group. Tuesdays and Thursdays are the days this will be offered from 9-10 and then you will be able to play. There is no cost for this and paddles will be available. Roger can set up a time for your "learn to play" instruction by emailing him at email@example.com.
FREE OPEN PICKLEBALL CLINICS: (see if you like it before spending money on the sport) Wednesday, Oct. 26 and Friday Oct. 28 from 5-8pm. Sunday Oct. 30, 9am-12. This is for inexperienced players who would like to learn the basics of Pickleball. Paddles and balls provided. Please wear comfortable gym shoes. Parking is available in the rear of the building. Use Door 3 - Memorial Gym

Please use last year’s ratings to start. If you think your game has improved to allow you to play at the next level, please let me know.
Please use the rear entrance of the Memorial Gym (Door 3), with just a few steps up, which leads to a small foyer at gym level and a changing room on the right. This room will be especially useful on wet/snow weather days. Wet shoes will not be allowed in the gym. There is a long bleacher which will allow for seating and gym bags.
The cost for now remains at $4/person/day. As you enter the gym there will be a table with a container to collect money and a sign in sheet that is mandatory! Please folks, no coins!
Enjoy Summer Play as follows: Per Pam Roberts
stop by Carpentier Park any Tuesday from 4:30 to 8 pm or any Sunday morning from 9 to noon to observe (or play) pickleball. People new to pickleball are always welcome and there are usually a couple of people willing to teach the game to new players and lend a paddle to use. If you have never played or observed pickleball at the recreational level, you will see how much fun it is, how social it is and how players of different levels are able to play together. We usually have all three courts at Carpentier full (12 people playing) and sometimes up to 8 or 10 people waiting to get in a game. I hope you will consider stopping by to observe, play and talk to the players.
Cost to play is just $4/day - pay supervisor on duty.
