OUR MISSION: Our camps will help build character in your child and allow kids to express themselves as individuals. Our camps also promote social skills, confidence and resilience.
AGES: Camp is designed for children 5-11 years of age.
PROGRAM INFORMATION:
*The program runs from Monday June 22 through Friday August 7. No Camp on Friday, July 3 in celebration/observance of the 4th of July.
*Morning Session runs from 9:00am-Noon; Afternoon Session runs from Noon-4:30pm.
*Camp is held at Springvale Playground.
*Our experienced staff have an exciting summer planned including theme weeks, field trips, music, movies, crafts, entertainment, theatre, cheerleading, Legos, dancing, environment (including walks and hikes), golf, magic, story hours, culinary, canoe/kayaking (age dependent), and a variety of interesting educational activities (music/art), as well as swimming for all age campers.
*Children must be potty trained.
*Our Staff is not trained for working with children with highly social, emotional, and or behavioral needs.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
-Summer Camp Starts on Monday, June 22, 2026. (No camp on Friday, July 3rd, in observance of July 4th) Ends Friday, August 7, 2026
-If camp is canceled due to weather, it will be posted on our website at the top of the home page - www.sanfordrec.com.
-FEES: Cost is for the entire summer and includes ALL field trips.
Morning Session: $250 for residents; $350 for non-residents
Afternoon Session: $350 for residents; $450 for non-residents.
-FINAL PAYMENTS DUE: on/before June 4, 2026. Your child(ren) will not be able to attend camp until your balance is paid in full.
-SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION DEADLINE: First come/First serve. Once funds are dissolved, there will be no more scholarships given. There is a non-refundable $25 cash application fee when submitting the application.
-The Sanford School Nutrition Program is offering lunches at the playground. Children will be asked each morning if they would like a free lunch.
General Information
- You must read Parent/Camper Handbook.
- If your child NEEDS/MUST HAVE medication during camp hours, YOU MUST fill out the Medication Administration form.
- City Waiver for participation is included in the disclaimer that you must sign to register online.
- Children must be potty trained. (If accidents happen we will call parents.)
- Fee includes a Camp T-shirt. This must be worn on Field Trip Days.
- Send camper with a large refillable water bottle, morning and afternoon snacks.
- Send camper in appropriate clothing for outdoor play along with sunscreen.
- Lunch will be provided by the Sanford School Nutrition Program for those who would like it.
- Swim Days for the Playground Camp is on Tuesdays. Bring swimsuits and towels with you to the Springvale Rec Area.
- On Swim Days, drop-off and pick-up will be at Springvale Rec Area, 298 Main Street, Springvale, ME 04083. (Follow the dirt road down to the Picnic Pavilion's and swim area.) Please allow additional time for pick-up and drop-off.
- If rain/thunderstorms are in the forecast, we may cancel camp for the day. There will be no refunds for cancelled days, but we will do our best not to cancel. Typically thunder or lightning is the only time camp is cancelled.
